Regular maintenance helps keep your motorcycle reliable and helps you notice problems before a journey.
1. Inspect your tyres
Check tyre pressure against the manufacturer's recommendations. Look for cuts, unusual wear, embedded objects and signs of damage.
2. Check the brakes
Pay attention to brake response and inspect the visible condition of brake components. If braking feels unusual, arrange a professional inspection before riding.
3. Maintain the chain
For motorcycles with a chain drive, inspect chain slack and lubrication according to the owner's manual. Clean and lubricate it using suitable products and procedures.
4. Check lights and controls
Confirm that the headlight, indicators, brake light, horn and mirrors are working correctly. Make sure the throttle and other controls operate normally.
5. Follow the service schedule
Use the manufacturer's service intervals for engine oil, filters, fluids and other components. Do not rely on a generic kilometre interval for every motorcycle.
Final thoughts
A quick pre-ride inspection is useful, but it does not replace scheduled servicing. Consult your owner's manual and a qualified mechanic when in doubt.
